WHAT STUDENTS REALLY NEED TO HEAR
The main event is learning how to deal with the harshness of life when it gets difficult. Telling a kid that continues to struggle that you care about them that you'll be with them through the thick and thin. Sometimes telling someone something they don't want to hear but need to hear is absolutely needed. "As long as you are in my life, I am not going to let quitting be easy for you. I am going to challenge you, confront you, push you, and coach you. You can whine. You can throw a tantrum. You can shout and swear and stomp and cry. And the next day, guess what? I will be here waiting — smiling and patient, because you are worth it." This quote is everything to an adolescent.
My high school self has always strived to be the most successful, the most driven and the hardest worker. However, the past month my drive to work hard has dissapeared. I have always had the need to succeed in my mind and when pursuing my future. As my work ethic drops my will becomes stronger. My will or little voice in the back of my head continues to yell and kick me in the butt to keep going. I believe high school is a period of time to learn how to push your limits and boundaries of your will and work ethic. Going through high school I have figured out that my will is much stronger than my work ethic and I believe that this is becuase of my dependency on being successful in the future.

To My Freshman Self
Dear Ty,
I know what you're thinking and stop. What you look like what your image says does not matter. Your unfilled smile wont matter in four years. High school can be intimidating but do not let it get to you. High school is nothing like middle school, friend groups start to split, teachers are not as lenient and time seems to fly by. They say High school is what prepares you for college but don't listen to that. High school is a place to figure out who you are as a person and what you want to do in this crazy world. Now, before you even start to think of the future we need to go over some tips, and do-nots of high school. Now you need to figure who you are, once you do this don't change for anyone be who you are be that annoying kid, be immature because once high school is over there's no time for that. Next, do not, I repeat, do not!! think you'll find your high school sweetheart. there is a time for serious dating and that is for college when your actually mature enough to know what you want in a woman. Friends come and go, and when you have a friend that would do anything for you return the favor and let them know you'll forever be there for them. Also, NEVER LIE!! tell the truth be confidence is your decisions. Now for the serious stuff. Family. Your family whether you know it or not will do anything to make sure you are successful. Don't take your family out of your life they need you home sometimes to know that you care about them, don't be selfish with your time. your friends love you but your family will love you forever. Ty being a freshman was the best year of my life. risk-taking is a risk itself and that you should take risks that take you out of your comfort zone that will build confidence in yourself because now a days, confidence is everything.
Sincerely T-Bone

To My Future Self
Dear Tyler,
You're fifty years old now and you've made it through the years that people call the most stressful times of their lives. Hopefully you've managed to maintain a stable career in your life as I am pursuing now but most importantly I hope you kept in touch with your family and friends. As I am becoming an adult through my final year of high school I am realizing what truely matters in life. Right now I'm learning that not everything has to do with success in the bank account. I've learned that making people happy and showing loved ones that you care about them is what success is. Right now where I am at in life I am too immature to realize it but creating my own family and doing everything in my power to do whatever it takes to keep them happy and safe is what life is all about. If I were to ask you to do one thing for me that would be to hold on to your ability to make others smile. Remember the things you did in high school to reausre the happiness in those who surround you and DO NOT forget that your happiness matters too. You need to call your mother and father right now and tell them you love them and that you are thankful for everything that they have done for you in your life. Then call your sister and do the same. After that, contact your friends from high school and reminice your lives together. Today I write this without a clue in mind of what in the world I'm supposed to do with my life, but I know the people that are in it is what life is about and those people are what and who you need to hold on for the rest of your life.
